A Message from the Christian Education Committee!

Since this is an anniversary year for Zion,

We are going to take you on a trip down memory lane….

Mystery Mansion,

The Zoom Zone,

Davey & Goliath’s Camp Creation,

Safari Adventure,

Treasure Cove,

Under Construction,

Son Harvest County Fair,

Son Rock Kids Camp,

High Seas Expedition

and the Shake It Up Café.

These are just a sampling of themes from the last 10 years of Vacation Bible School held at Zion and we hope we stirred some fond memories of good times and camaraderie while sharing the Good News with the children.  This ministry is not possible without the support of Zion both financially and with staff willing to volunteer their time and talents.  If you have been involved as a st

udent, helper, leader or director, the Christian Education committee thanks you for a job well done.  Today we stand before you to make an appeal for a director or co-director for VBS 2012.

Traditionally, VBS has been held for one week in June, Monday through Friday in the mornings with an evening program on Friday night but we can be flexible and creative to consider other options.  This ministry not only serves Zion but reaches out to the West End community. It can not happen without a director. So, we are asking you to prayerfully consider getting involved.  If you feel called or nudged to serve in this capacity, please speak to either Pastor or Patty Pierce. You will not be alone.   Zion has a very loyal following of volunteers that help out year after year and the ministry also provides a wonderful leadership opportunity for our teens and preteens.  Let us remember, it is God’s work but our hands.
